Protective Shield: Active Immunization That Takes Care of Your Pet's Health

What is active immunization?
Active immunization consists of administering vaccines to animals that contain weakened or inactivated versions of a pathogenic microorganism. When the dog’s immune system comes into contact with these agents, it activates and generates specific antibodies that will protect it against future infections by this pathogen.

In this way, vaccines stimulate the immune system to learn to recognize and effectively fight certain diseases, without the animal having to experience the disease itself.

Benefits of active immunization in pets prevention of infectious diseases:

  • Prevention of infectious diseases
Vaccines help prevent diseases such as hepatitis, or rabies, among others, which can be very serious if not treated in time.

  • Health and longevity
Vaccinated dogs are less likely to become ill and live longer. This means fewer trips to the vet, fever costly treatments, and more years enjoying the company of your best friends.

  • Public Safety
Some diseases such as rabies can be transmitted from animals to humans. Keeping your dog vaccinated helps control the spread of zoonoses and protect the health of the community.

Vaccination varies according to the age and lifestyle of your pet. We recommend consulting your veterinarian first to make sure your pet is receiving the appropriate doses.

Why do we use active immunization to treat osteoarthritis?
Activation of the immune system through vaccines can help reduce joint inflammation and damage, preventing the progression of this degenerative disease.

At Xeptiva, we believe in the power of vaccines to improve the quality of life of pets. That’s why we’re conducting a controlled clinical trial to explore how active immunization can benefit dogs living with osteoarthritis chronic pain.
