Our story

From the lab to the clinic

Xeptiva was born from more than ten years of research on neurogenic inflammation, the interplay between the nervous and immune systems in which neuropeptides such as Substance P activate mast cells and turn inflammation chronic, driving chronic pain, itch and many of the conditions that come with aging.

In 2021 we founded the company in Montevideo, Uruguay with one goal: to create a new class of therapies that help companion animals live longer, healthier lives, and to give their families long-lasting solutions that fit naturally into everyday care.

Today our immunotherapies for chronic pain and dermatitis in dogs and cats are moving from the laboratory into clinical pilots, bringing long-lasting relief to pets and peace of mind to their families.
